Visually interesting, but I don't see a board that I'd use to build a guitar. |

We'll have to wait for Jeff (Brazil Tonewoods) to tell us. I know some species look vastly different when they are first cut, and I'll trust that the end view of the reddish-colored heartwood logs are D Nigra, as Jeff notes on his site. I'm guessing that the other photos of the sliced slabs are probably something like (pre-oxidized) Pau Ferro, Kingwood, or Tulipwood. (If the slabs in the top photo are already oxidized, then I would guess Nargusta,Terminalia Amazonia.) So, Jeff, what is it? Dennis |

Looks a lot like Kingwood, also a rosewood from Brazil, not dalbergia nigra. |

If you go to his site where the pictures are, he states that it's Nigra, and furthermore the file names of the pictures contain "brazialianrosewood" in them. http://www.braziltonewoods.com/currentnews.html |

Hi Lance, Thought you might appreciate this set. It's one of the most unique I've seen since I've been in Brazil. ![]() |

Too bad the sides aren't the back and visa versa. That bookmatch would be out of this world on a back. |

Those were my thoughts exactly Paul. That's a one in a million design on the side set. I'm still looking for that one piece for the BACK AND SIDES. ![]() |
